Volker Frank Sperlich of Sperlich Art Glass & Doors Inc. was born in Salzgitter near Hannover, Germany, where he lived until moving to Florida in 1983. As a self-taught artist, who started creating one-of-a-kind illuminated art glass sculptures, the beauty of colored glass and light always inspired him.

He has been creating art glass entranceways, windows, sculptures and murals for over 2 decades and is known for his exquisite pieces of art work in such places as the Miami Children’s Hospital, The House of Prayer for all people Miami, The All Faith Chapel Miami, The Aruba Bus Station in the island of Aruba, The Yacht Club Lobby Miami Beach, La Gorce Country Club Miami Beach, Apostolic Faith Church St. Thomas Virgin Island and is working currently on several project for private residences in Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. Many of his works are also being displayed at private residences in the USA, Central and South America and the Caribbean. 

Volker Frank Sperlich incorporates the healing properties of Color and light, to affect moods and spirits. His series of murals, of underwater scenes at the Med/Surg Wing at the Miami Children’s Hospital was executed with this idea in mind.

Ancient Mosaics

In this ancient expression of art, glass is broken by a hammer or thrown,which creates unusual shapes and shards which are in no relationship to any known form we see in our world. Smalti, molten pieces of glass are cut with a blade which is set in a tree trunk and then split with a stone or hammer, then re- assembled in an Extraordinary Stream of Consciousness by the artist
Adriana Tio into shapes and forms which are natural expressions of the world we live in.

In this evolved form of Mosaics we find also objects included which are very familiar to us such as fossils, cut stones , and metal fragments. These Mosaics are absolutely astounding!!!
There are no Patterns and no Copies. They are true Conscious Art Expressions in the truest sense of the word. They are magnificent expression of Human Consciousness.
